Patch Updates

This module updates system patches through Microsoft's official interfaces (since Microsoft understands the Windows system best), featuring security, stability, and comprehensiveness.

Microsoft releases system patches every month, and it is recommended to update these patches monthly. Since some patches may modify system ACL permissions, it is advisable to perform system hardening again after completing the patch updates.

1. Manual Patch Update

Select the desired patch range (it is recommended to select all), and then click the "Check Patches" button.

If "Auto Update" is checked, patches will be automatically installed once found. The system will prompt whether a server restart is required based on the patch requirements. It is recommended to restart the server immediately after the update to ensure the patches take effect.

2. Automatic Patch Update

To minimize operational maintenance efforts, we have developed the "Automatic Patch Update" feature.

You need to configure the patch range (it is recommended to select all), execution time (nighttime is recommended), and message notifications (it is recommended to enable them).

The decision on automatic restart depends on business requirements:

If the server runs software that needs to be manually started (e.g., gaming software), do not select the automatic restart option. After patch updates, a message notification will be sent to remind you to restart the server.

If the server does not have any manually started software, it is recommended to select "Smart Restart," allowing the server to reboot automatically after patch installation.
